With the basic education reform of China developed deeply, geography education reform has made fruitful achievements.As the milestones of geography curriculum reform, Geographical Curriculum Standards of China's compulsory education and Geographical Curriculum Standards of high school have been published. With the research methods of literature and comparison have been used, Geographical Curriculum Standards of China and Ontario have been compared. The aspects of geography curriculum settings,curriculum objective,curriculum content curriculum evaluation have been Compared and analyzed. The conclusions may give some experience and enlightenment to enforce and improving the Geographical Curriculum Standards in China.This thesis is composed of seven parts.The first part is an introduction. Mainly discussed the background, meaning, present situation and the existence question of the research, and introduces the research approach, innovations and technical route.The second part explores the theoretical basis for the comparative study of geography of curriculum standards between China and Ontario, Canada.The third part is the comparative study of geography curriculum offering between China and Ontario, Canada. By analyzing the characteristics of the geographical curriculum offering in Ontario, and then comparing the geography curriculum offering in China to identify similarities and differences and conclude the merits and deficiencies of geography curriculum offering between China and Ontario, Canada.The fourth part is the comparison of geography curriculum objectives between China and Ontario, Canada. Mainly from the knowledge, skills, processes and methods, attitudes and values that three aspects compared and analyzed, we can explore their advantages and disadvantages, and give advice to the curriculum objectives redesign.The fifth part is the comparison the content of geography curriculum standards between China and Ontario, Canada. The content system and contents selected in geography curriculum standards of the two countries have been compared. Based on the analysis of the characteristics of contents selected in geography curriculum standards,explain their similarities and differences, and make recommendations to our geography curriculum standardsThe sixth part is the comparison of the curriculum evaluation of geography curriculum standards between China and Ontario, Canada.The characteristics of in the analysis of geographical criteria in Ontario, Canada and report card have been analyzed; two countries both advocate the diversification of evaluation objectives, evaluation methods and evaluation subject of geographical learning assessment; In the end, I made some suggestions on the development of our students improved report card.The last part summarizes the basic conclusion of this paper, and puts forward the deficiency and further research problems.
