Geography comparative education research is the concrete application of comparative education research in geography discipline. Geography comparative education can through the compare make us aware the Geography education’s position in the world, the global compare of the Geography education can make us know the position of the Geography in the normal education different level, the importance of the different education direction of the Geography course and use the resource and teaching method in the teaching Geography.The world recognized that the economic power and military power of The United States is ranked among the top of the world. More important is the United States have the most invention to the world of the patent, the tallest record of creative, the strongest competitiveness of the world’s and has won the most Nobel Prize.Why the education in the United States is so powerful and prosperous? What part is worth our country studying in geography? The point of penetration of this paper is the comparison junior high school geography teaching material of the United States and China. The method of the geography textbook writing that we research will be used selectively for ours.The textbook published by McDougal Littell which named World Geography of America and published by People’s Education Press which used for grade 7 of China are the material in this paper.The compare of this paper mainly through the literature method, induction, description method, case analysis and comparative research. This paper compares the word of junior high school geography teaching material, the introduction of language of teaching materials and the teaching material of auxiliary materials from the macroscopic and the three content of the changes of the land and sea,the weather and climate, Japanese from the microscopic Mainly through the introduction of China and the United States the world of junior high school geography textbook overview,write, and curriculum setting of different influencing factors. The comparing shows he different curriculum standard, the different methods of teaching, the different methods of evaluation and the different technical conditions between the United States and China are the main reason for the different geography textbook writing of junior high school. And this paper puts forward the suggesting about teaching material and expression on the principle should be rich, enhance network teaching and strengthen the teacher training and so on.
