The thesis is based on the new concept of curriculum reform to undertake a research into the practical strategies in American History Teaching. It uses related theories to guide the American History Teaching practice in junior middle school. It aims to not only set and make clear the American History Teaching curriculum standards of changes and trends but also to strengthen the influence of the trends and changes on the history practice in junior middle school. The thesis tries to probe and practice a new strategy for the teaching of American History.The thesis is composed of 3 chapters:Syllabus, Curriculum Standards and New Strategies. In the first chapter, it aims to reveal and explain the trends and changes by looking into the current situation thoroughly. In the second chapter, the author manages to give a vivid description of teaching practice. To achieve it, it combines the teaching activities which the author is good at with the fresh and lively teaching cases. Also, it deals with the four aspects:the choice of teaching content, the development of teaching materials, the effective questioning in class and activity-course cooperation among students. In the third chapter, the thesis researches into the new strategies for American History Teaching in junior middle schools. It puts forward 5 feasible and workable strategies which promote the harmonious development by knowing the individual personality differences, give instructions for the history learning and independent research through material resources, encourage the students to be creative and have the courage to question and solve the problems under the new curriculum reform in history education.
