At the end of Qing dynasty, China was conquered by western countries and modern industry appeared. More practical elites were required in the society. So education reform of the entire society was brought up under this background. By combining the introduction of western education thought and Chinese local education thought, a lot of excellent education reformer and practical thinkers built their education theory. Many educational thinkers pursued saving country with education. They guided education reform through translating foreign countries advanced education ideas and teaching methods based on practice. They realized the importance of early education and continued studying reform proposal of preschool education. Many preschool educationists such as Tao Xingzhi, Chen Heqin, Zhang Xuemen and so on came up. They did teaching experiments and in the meanwhile wrote books and proposed all kinds of ideas to promote preschool education reform. The Chinese Educational Review was where they published their education theory, called for education reform and concluded reform achievements. The Chinese Educational Review also loyally recorded preschool education reform course and rich achievements of our country in the Period of the Republic of China. The thesis studies preschool education reform course and its theoretical and historic value of our country in the Period of the Republic of China based on researching The Chinese Educational Review.The thesis is divided into six parts.The first part introduces The Chinese Educational Review and preschool education reform in the Period of the Republic of China briefly. The Chinese Educational Review and education reform in the Period of the Republic of China rose up in the same historic background. Preschool education reform was an important segment of education reform in the Period of the Republic of China. The Chinese Educational Review published many theoretical and practical articles concerning about preschool education and translated many education works of foreign countries. This promoted the teaching idea and teacher-children relationship that children should be center and made education more scientific.In the second part, The Chinese Educational Review faithfully record the system establishment in the preschool education reform. The system that included the process of historical evolution that the formulation of ex-education system since the end of Qing Dynasty, and the reform of preschool education system after Xinhai Revelation, and the independence of kindergarten after the New Culture Movement. The system of preschool education reform dramatically effect the preschool education in contemporary China, and reflect to huge change of process of preschool education system from have no to have position, at the same time, the nation give the high value to preschool education development.The third part historically evaluated The Chinese Educational Review and preschool education in the Period of the Republic of China. The Chinese Educational Review experienced almost 40 years. It consistently regarded research education and improves study as its purport and affected Chinese education deeply. However, because of staying in an unstable era, both The Chinese Educational Review and Chinese preschool education reform had their own limitation inescapably. They couldn't totally break free from the affection of western educational ideas or clear factors inappropriate to Chinese education thoroughly. Reforms in war were usually interrupted o(?) stopped, resulting that theory and practice both lack of scientific serious and consistency.The fourth part introduced an achievement of teaching method in preschool education in The Chinese Educational Review which includes tc borrow and to dissolve the Japanese and American teaching methods, and the formation of the teaching mode of the localization of Chinese special feature after experiment and fulfillment of Chinese educator in the absorption western forerunner education principle. Center teaching system what is formed by Tao Xingzhi, Chen Heqing, Zhang Xuemen who absorbed Duwei life education is the outstanding achievement in the republic preschool education reform.The fifth part introduced an achievement of teacher development in preschool education in The Chinese Educational Review which includes the establishment of teachers development organization in the republic period, the training of kindergarten teacher kindergarten child-care worker.Among them, the achievement embodied has already drawn lessons from meaning as well to solution that preschool education teachers problem nowadays.The sixth part is the summary to the full text. In discussing several above-mentioned concentrations of parts, a synopsis comment of the history value was made to the preschool education in the The Chinese Educational Review and republic period.The thesis reveals their historic significance and realistic function by researching The Chinese Educational Review and preschool education in the Period of the Republic of China.
