A lot of researches have studied the correlation between need and achievement motivation of teachers, and have found some results which can guide teaching. However, in century 21, more and more people who were born after 1980s and 1990s are going to be teachers. They have some special properties which different from the people who were born after 1960s. So, we need to study the need and achievement motivation of primary school teachers who were born after 1980s and 1990s, and compare to the primary school teachers who were born after 1960s. We also studied the correlation between need and achievement motivation of primary school teachers.Teachers from eight primary schools of Tianjin participated our study. All participants answered the questionnaire of school teachers' need and the scale of achievement motivation. We found some results:1. The strength of primary school teachers' need from top to bottom was: economic status, work status, safety, self-actualization, respect, social communication, salary.2. There was a gender influence on primary school teachers' achievement motivation. There was a similar influence of age and teaching age on primary school teachers' achievement motivation. There was no occupation and education influence on primary school teachers' achievement motivation.3. There was a positive correlation between primary school teachers' self-actualization need and pursuing victory. There was also a positive correlation between primary school teachers' economic status and refusing failure.
