With development of basic education in rural, teacher professional development in rural areas affect the level of education. Because the number of female teachers in primary school in rural areas gradually has increased, how to improve female teachers the level of teacher professional development is our common study.This study is taking S township Kongtong district Pingliang City for example, the township meet the requirements of the new curriculum reform, to promote the professional development of teachers in rural primary schools, specifically for each teacher to develop a professional portfolio of development and growth, and carry out a series of teaching and research activities at the same time. This study through questionnaires, interviews, observation, collection, and direct participation in school physical activities is to research and collect information related to the field. This study shows the status about professional development of female teachers in primary school in rural areas . This study is under the guidance of the relevant theory ,to conclud characteristics of female teacher professional development in rural primary school.Their characteristics are high professional self-identity, work attitude is careful, professional autonomy is not high, lack of expertise, rapport with students, less participation in school management, lack of time learning, the lack of professional guidance in teaching and research activities and less training opportunities. Combined with socio-cultural and ethnic characteristics ,this study finds deep-seated difficulties of female teachers in professional development.The difficulties are the conflict between the role of family women and the role of women in teaching profession, the traditional gender culture constraints professional development, psychological pressure led to burnout, small development training opportunities impact professional development, rural school environment impact on the professional development of female teachers is more obvious, parents is not enough emphasis on their children's education influence on positive female teachers of the work, etc.. On this basis, we seek effective measures to improve the professional development of female teachers in the rural primary school . The effective measures in five aspects : rural primary school teachers have gender concerns, gender-c are professional development of teachers, the school system and the management must be gender-care, social and cultural atmosphere to create a gender-sensitive care and female teachers need self-interest professional development. The effective measures are to promote the professional development of female teachers in rural primary schools .
