AbstractA probe on the chemistry CAL development in secondary school Guo XinThis article introduces the concept of CAL and its development in China. It discusses not only the peculiarity and realistic significance of CAl, but also Its applied prospect in secondary school chemistry. It enables students better to observe and analyze chemical experiments, explore microcosmic world, understand abstract. principles as well as get to know some chemical phenomena and processes that are difficult to be observed in reality.Aiming at some misunderstanding of present CAL and the limitations of computer and CAl itself, this article gives a detailed analysis, such as the blindness of using computer media and seeking computer technology as well as the advantage of CAL, neglectfulness of the direction of educational ideal and belief, pay~n~ attention to teach knowledge but ignoring fostering the ability, lightening teacher's dominant function and so on. This article also puts forward the key that present CAl of secondary school chemistry can walk out the dilemma is that broad chemistry teachers school make by themselves and use high-quality courseware. In making by yourself and using courseware, this article tries to solve two prc1-cms. One is to establish correct concepts of making and using coursewarc, including instructions of education idea, selection of content and media, principle of courseware ni~king as well as creating of surrounding and fostering of talents etc. The other is technological problem of c.ourseware making, involving the selection of tools that may be used in CAL courseware making and the whole process covering from choosing subject, teaching design, writing manuscript, collecting and creating medium materials to synthesizing courseware. This article takes chemical equilibrium as an example to make a CAL courseware successfully.
