This article studied and discussed systematically the four aspects of the motivations which influenced the mass sports demand of the town residents, the knowledge on the mass sports demand of the customers, the related collectives and the social culture with some methods like referring documents consulting experts, mathematical statistics on the basis of the investigation on the social psychological factor which influenced the mass sports demand of the town residents in our country, The study result shows: the motivations which influenced their choices in order are body building entertainment, imitation and the need of social communication; the mass physical exercise ,but still far from taking it into practice; Among the related collectives the primary collective has a greater influence to the mass?physical exercise need comparatively , the desired collective less the minor collective's influence is limited; the traditional Chinese culture will have a negative result of certain degree on the mass sports demand. In correspondence , the article also gives some developing strategy to the social psychological factors which limited the mass sports demand of our country nowadays. The study results has a realistic meaning to the advice of the right concept of the mass?sports custom, the formation of a healthy, civilized mass sports consume psychology ,the promotion of the mass?sports demand in our country.
