The poor students in colleges and universities form an important group that is widely concerned by all sectors of society,as well as a special body in college education financial aid.In recent years,the state financial aid,social enterprises and individual funding for poor students in colleges and universities have been further strengthened.For a long time,the assistance to poor students in colleges and universities has been mainly based on the economic dimension.The psychological intervention and clinical research of poor students have not been systematically targeted.The mental health of impoverished students in colleges and universities needs extensive attention and special research intervention in an all-round way.This study starts from the mental health status of poor students in colleges and universities,compares the mental health status of relevant college and university students in China and abroad with the current status of related domestic research through literature review,and puts forward related hypotheses.Hypothesis one,the mental health of poor students is weaker than that of non-poor students.This study starts from the mental health status of poor students in colleges and universities.Hypothesis two,the mental health status of poor students is positively related to the comprehensive academic performance of poor students,that is,the mental health of poor students will directly affect the comprehensive performance of poor students in school.Hypothesis three,impoverished students’ mental health status is affected by other factors besides economic factors,including the original ecological family environment,secondary campus living environment,personal life development stage or life cycle,socialization degree,etc.The author also tried to propose a multi-dimensional systemic intervention strategy from the perspective of hypothesis.From the empirical point of view,the poor student group of Z College was taken as the test subject,referring to some characteristics of the mental health status of non-impoverished young students in the same environment.In addition,the relevant hypotheses are tested from the perspectives of education,social work,and pedagogy.Also,the study summarizes the mental health status of poor student groups.Their senses of self-efficacy,somatization and awareness of psychological distress are low.It also describes prejudice,aggressiveness,and other characteristics,mental state disorders,personal behavioral biases,social dysfunction,and crisis.The author also conducts a detailed analysis of the types of related dilemmas,constructed a psychological risk prevention mechanism for poor students and studied the macro,meso,and micro dimensions of society from a systematic perspective.Starting from the ecological environment of direct contact with college students,the author proposes a psychosocial therapy model,a cognitive behavioral intervention model,a rational emotional therapy,a task-centric model,a crisis intervention model,a human-centric therapy model,a family therapy model,and a campus life development model and other different intervention strategies.Researchers strive to contribute to the mental health of poor college students and call on all sectors of society to pay attention to and actively serve the mental health of college students.
