Study On The Lssues Of TVE In University

As a new pattern to develop China抯 higher technical &vocational education(TVE) China抯 universities have carried out higher TVE for several years. Since its beginning, it has aroused extensively disputes both in academic circles and in practices. So it is of significant importance to study on it. The dissertation proceeds with a brief review of the actualities and complexions about the TVE in China抯 universities by investigating and studying literal materials, and analyzes its advantages and disadvantages, hereon probes into its reforms. The author considers TVE in university as a necessary supplement to the development of China抯 TVE, for it can make full use of university抯 resources such as its staff, facilities, and immaterial resources. Thus, it will not only has great significances in the development of TVE by upgrading the social position of TVE, improving the quality of TVE, leading some TVE specialties to develop to higher level, and diversifying the developing patterns of TVE; but also benefit the university itself. The author points out, however, there抮e still some problems in TVE in China抯 universities, such as the traditional educational ideas that hinders the development of TVE, lacking qualified teachers for TVE, the shortage of TVE teaching materials, the improper WE administration, etc. In order to solve these problems, the author learns from the experiences of foreign countries, aims at China抯 WE development goals, and puts forwards reform proposals as following: we should convert the traditional educational concepts , especially the subject-oriented idea in running university; we should nail down TVE in university on undergraduate level; we should adhere to the essential features of TVE and especially highlight the distinctive features of TVE in university; we must also run WE in university independently to parent university, and to organize TVE in universities in various models. The author emphasizes that China抯 university should carry out WE on undergraduate level or even graduate levels, thus can it bring the advantages of university into full play and show out its distinctive features. The author also insists that WE in university should be operated in independent mechanism and organized in independent system, only in this can it avoid being assimilated by parent university, and guarantee the success of its reform.
