《National long-term education reform and development Plan》 proposes that national education should be placed in a priority strategic position. Priority to the development of education is an important policy of the party and state for long-term adherence. Guangdong Province, in recent years, is facing an economic development restructuring, naturally the demand for higher technical talents has changed. All of these lead us to focus on one question:vocational and technical education teaching reform in Guangdong area! It is in this context that the author, as a higher vocational workers in Dongguan area has made a research on Dongguan vocational education reform. Firstly, this study reviews the history of vocational and technical education in Dongguan. It highlights the importance of Higher Vocational Education in economic development of Dongguan. The author arises some principles on the reposition of Dongguan Higher Vocational Education; then the author studies the higher vocational education of Dongguan region in three aspects of major settings, curriculums and teaching methods and internship arrangements through interviews. The author has found that local governments, colleges, and enterprises each play a different role among the above three areas. The author tries to offer a number of reform proposals on teaching reform of Dongguan region in major settings, curriculums and teaching methods and practical arrangements from a higher vocational worker’s perspective. They are expected to help the teaching reform of higher vocational education in Dongguan.
