The activity course has always been an important subject in both educational theory and practice. After studying many years, it has achieved some development At present there are two kinds deal about the course which worth our attention. That is, one is 搈ake the activity to be academic in the course? the other is 揼ame the academic course? According to the analysis of this deals, it cause the different understand of the activity course and the lack design, lack implement on the course. Therefore, it is an important subject on how to get the essence of the activity course, and optimize the course layout. This further study is not only the key in the development of quality education, but also has long temi effect on the next round reform of basic education field. Following the basic principle of combining theory and practice, this paper analysis some primary theories of activity course, distinguishes the concept of activity course, and do some depth analysis of 揳cademic?and 揳ctivitj?to reveal theirs intention and extension, and renew the meaning of the 揷ourse?by some education studying methods, then summary the basic characters of the activity course. In addition, in view of the pupils need and the demand on the students ability by the social development as well as the existing problems in both secondary and elementary school work; the paper give the importance in designing and practicing the activity course. In order to grasp accurately of the essentiality of activity course and the content of science design curriculum this article performs researches on the history and current status of activity course in foreign countries such as Britain, USA, France and Japan. This article further analyzes the characters of activity course in those countries, reviewing its development history in our country especially the 揈XTRACURRICULAR ACTIViTY? 揝ECOND CLASSROOW and core problems arising from the present activity course implementation: targets, content; activity items and activity method/style. First the article develops two pieces of unification on establishing the iii MASTERS THESIS targets of activity course. These are the unification of the requirement of society and that of student individual, the unification of student抯 original standard and their new development aim. So the activity courses targets are put forward. They should promote the general understanding of nature/society and the internal contact of seW promoting student抯 practice abilities and innovating wills which make them cultivating their own favorable cbaractenstic. Secondary the design content of activity course emphasizes on the content origination, which primarily originates from student抯 requirement/interests/taste/aptitude/their reality life and subject knowledge, etc. The aiticle emphasizes on expounding how to design activity course contents, and fuither develops the activity courses design into eight aspects. Finally on the canying means of activity course the article accords to the methods of targets realization, which is also the necessary guarantee on thought.
