This paper mainly explores the integrity of image thinking and its function in solving mathematical problems. Image thinking is intended to render profound theories and abstract definitions into images, or to reorganize inage material, and generalize abstract definitions. The integrity of image thinking deals majorly with the ways of such thinking as imagination and its integral featares Imagination is 搕he proceos in which new images are created on the basis of the existent perceptnal images? It is a kind of human intelligtnle and one of the advanced perceptual thinking activities. Image thinking contains five stages: image sensation, imagl sforage, image judgement, image lreation. and image presentation. The integringof image thinking has three features: saltatoriness, selectivity and generality. Image thinking, helps solve mathematical problems mainly throngh the avove梞entioned three features. Its functions are displayed through the following: disdosing the inner connections and essence of mathematical knowledge, providing clear lime of thought and solving me thod, combining with abstract thinking and obtaining more correct results and also the origins of mathematical creation. Image thinking, with objective images as its thinking objects, images as its thinking media, guides the practice of creating materialized images It relies on concrete images and ideal images to unfold the train of thought. The mastery and understanding of mathematical definition are lettered iii # MASTER扴 THESIS upon the unfolding of image thinking mathematical image thinking reflects the essence of things thjrongh perceptual images. Mathematical thinking can be subdivided into abstract thinking, image thinking and aspiration thinking. The specific process of mathematical thinking is always permeated and interacted by abstract and image thinking. That is toast , they abstract thinking and image thinking are combined with each other Mathematics is the product of abstraction, which is generalized from concrete image thinking Concerte im age, can give out definitions, formulae atc, which in turn can be images that will beget new theories such kind of circulatory cycles will push the development of mathematical science onto mew stages.
