Word problems, or real-life problems, mainly problem solving is a focal and difficult point in mathematical teaching in senior high school. This study, in a common classroom teaching circumstance, combine the strategy of thinking with the specific content of teaching in word problems in senior high schools. 86 students were trained in this experiment for two months. The training contents included the common training and metacognitive training. The result of the study shows:(1) Trained students obviously improve their ability to solve problems.(2) Trained students undergo a development in self-efficacy.(3) Students welcome the training and make a positive response. The value of this thesis lies in both theory and practice. In theory, it proves the importance and feasibility of training higher school students' solution strategies which enriches the theory of instructional psychology by providing it with empirical evidence. In practice it provides the educational psychology theory for improving the methodology of word problems and improving the quality of mathematics teaching quality in high schools.
