| Shoot is one of the most important technology of basketball, the only method of scoring, the base point of basketball tactics and the emphasis of basketball teaching and training.Because of complex and affected by circumstance easily, the skill of shoot has become the focal point of study. During the studying and working, the experts of basketball fond two ways to control the degree of difficult when teaching shoot. That means we can adjust the shoot distance or the basket height to control the degree of difficult of shoot. But during the teaching and training, we often use the first way, that adjusting the shoot distance to control the degree of difficult of shoot, neglected the second way by adjusting the height of basket. Further more, the first way has its own defect, the difficulty to control the coefficient of difficult. So it is necessary to go deep into the study of the way, teaching shoot by controlling the height of basket.The method of teaching shoot by increase height of basket progressively means we teaching shoot from a low level of basket height to the standard level. During the teaching, the teacher increased the height of basket step by step. Then the differentlevel of basket height means different shoot action. The different shoot action constructs an order from the most simple shoot action to the most complex. So the student will master the skill of shoot quickly when they study shoot progressively in the order of difficulty coefficient.During 18 weeks teaching experiment, experiment group and control group used different method to teaching shoot. Experiment group use new method and control group use traditional method. Comparison of pre-and posttest was made. The result reveals that there is difference (P<0.05) between the experiment group and control group. The achievement of experiment group is better than control group. The result is that teaching shoot by increase height of basket progressively is better than traditional method and we make good use of it.
