Human communication has two forms: verbal communication and nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication means all the communicative behaviour beyond language. The whole process of communication is composed of verbal and nonverbal communication. However, during the communication people pay much more attention to the verbal communication than nonverbal communication. They believe that speech is the only way to deliver and grasp information. As a result, the study on nonverbal communication is lagging behind. Both Chinese and foreign scholars have done a great variety of research on all kinds of situations of nonverbal communication. Nonverbal communication for classroom teaching also arouses the interest of scholars. As far as the present state of study is concerned,it needs profound research both in China and in foreign counties. This thesis manages to do all-dimensional research on the nonverbal communication for classroom teaching. It divides the subject into several parts, such as the message of space and time,kinesics,non-kinesics and nonverbal sounds, which need carefully examining.
