Problem And Measure About A New Settled Plans "Two Course" Curriculum

The new settled plan on "two courses" curriculum, which was issued in 1998, is a series of strict obligatory reform, with distinctive times' character. For three years, every province (autonomous region, municipality directly under the Central Government), the Administration of Education, every college and university had put great emphasis on enforcement of the plans; they did a lot of work and also made a lot of achievements. But there're also many problems in them, such as the problem of incomplete curriculum, the insufficient courses, the improper number of classes, the improper supervise of teaching materials, the redundant teaching content, the inflexibility of the teaching methods, the unimplemented practices and so on. The reasons are many-faceted, mainly exist, the understanding of its importance is not enough, its system of management haven't been rationalized yet, the teachers is frail, the prophase preparing is insufficient, the "two courses" construction is insufficient and the extrinsic side-effect is too large and so on. To solve these problems, firstly, we should reflective our guiding-ideology of running school, put strengthen the college students' proper political direction on the first position, improve their quality on science, education, and politics. Secondly, We should enhance the understanding of the importance of "two courses", realize the importance of college and universities' political work in new times, cultivate socialism builders and successors. Thirdly, we should strengthen the construction of each system, do well in teaching supervising system, class numbers controlling system, allocation and payment system, document checking system and supervising system of teaching. Fourthly, we should rationalize the system of morals and education hi college, middle school and primary school, make their stage aims clear, content definite and ways suitable. Fifthly, we should improve the teaching of our classroom; change our attitudes towards education and teaching. Sixthly, push on the construction of "two course" curriculum; define its relation on curriculum system and each course's content system, theories and practice. Seventhly, weshould put social practice into effect; enhance our understanding of its importance and advance practical aims, to solve the investment problems through many kinds of ways. Eighthly, we should strengthen the teachers' construction, allocate "two course" teachers. Besides, we should build our part-time troops and stabilize them.
