In the thesis, the author employs the methods of philosophic thinking, experience generalization and literature research to make a deep and systematic study of play and the relation between play and education.In the field of play research, it is generally considered that play is a kind of activities stuck on fixed labels at present. This idea is called "play label theory" in this paper. In order to make up for its deficiency, "emergent play theory" and "pan-play theory" are put forward. According to pan-play theory, the secrets of play are in the content of play family similarities, namely, play elements. The play state of mind consists of entertainment, self-decision, overstepping the scope of life regularities and abiding by inherent rules which are four play elements from strong to weak in applicability, namely, "four elements hypothesis" . Based on this, play is defined as a kind of self-decisive and entertaining activities in which people overstep the scope of life regularities or abide by inherent rules at certain place and certain time. To speak simply, play is the activities in which people can find self-enjoyment. Pan-play theory develops the intension and extension of the original concept "play" to some extent.As the relation between play and education is concerned, the author not only analyzes the source of their conflicts and the basis of their harmony, but also puts forward the whole idea of play-education in view of some diseases existing in the field of education such as being ready only for entering a higher school or working skillfully and lacking enjoyment for learners. In theory, play-education sticks to the idea that education is to help people live a whole life. In practice, play-education holds the idea that curriculum and play produce each other so as to make education become play for learners, and that play should become the content and aims of curriculum so that education is in part to "teach people play" and to "cultivate players" . From pleasurable education, eudemonism education, enjoyable education to play-education, the way to play of education leads straightly to the perfect education.Pan-p].ay theory put forward in the thesis reveals the secrets of play to some extent. What' s more, the whole idea of play-education opens up a new way for promoting education to become play and realizing the perfect education.
