As our society progresses and humanity advances, the mission of developing effectivemusic teaching methodologies for young children has never been so critical. Play, an timeless andconventional method of forming human interactions, from time to time are changed in terms ofhow they are conducted. and as the society evolves, people’s expectations and complaints of playchange as well. Therefore, this article researches and reviews the roles of play in early childhooddevelopment and coins the term.“play-oriented”, It aslo observed and studies the effectiveness ofactivities and game for toddlers. Although the topic of playtime has been mentioned and studiedamong many other fields in childhood development, its research in early childhood musicdevelopment has thus far been limited to the theoretical studies based on classroom activities,which lacks the practical self-establishment. This article therefore studies from toddlers’perspective and uses the platform of vivid classroom scenarios where games and activities areplaced during children’s music classes. The author differentiates the definition of “play” and“play-oriented” during the process of the research, and explains the theoretical basis forplay-oriented music education. The purpose of this research is to help educators and teachersunderstand the role of the usage of games in early childhood music development. Field notes andjournals of both individual and group activity scenarios are aslo included in this study for furtherunderstanding of the principles and values of play-oriented early childhood music education. Theauthor recorded almost every aspect of subject toddlers’ behaviors in a music class setting. Thiswill further advice and be of helpful reference to kindergarten educators as well as greatlyimprove their proactive teaching roles.
