Online Examination System: Theory And Practice

Educational Measurement is a critacal part of educational assessment. With the development of Information Technology, Computer has been used in Education. It is a great leap from the traditonal measuremnt with pen and paper .Computer Assisted Testing( CAT ) apply computer technology in educational assessment field. It can give a fair assessment to the object being tesed for instructional purpose, including three parts: how to compile the items to be tested, how to use computer in test and how to make assessment by using computer. CAT can be devided into two category: general testing and adaptive testing.In the first part of the article, the author introduces the theory and practice of Item Bank buliding and educational assessement in CAT and also the development of CAT worldwide. The author designed and developed a practical CAT system桹nline Examination System of Educational Technology. The second and the third part of the article talks about this parctice, mainly on the design, problems and solutions. As the theory, technology and practice of CAT is far to be mature, this article is a kind of practical and tentative research.
