With the advancing of curriculum reformation in china ,it is becoming more and more important to explore and utilize curriculum resources. This article, which takes the Essentials of Foundamental Education Curriculum Reformation Outline (trial) as its' compass and the notion of multi-cultural education as its' background , pays special attention to the following issues: curriculum resources' concept and their characteristics, the goal content of exploring and utilizing the Dongxiang nationalities' curriculum resuurces, the general strategies for exploring and utilising curriculum resources.There are two different kinds of curriculum resources. In a broad sense, they refer to the resources which have some bearing in educational aim and can be utilized when one develops the curriculum. Here, the term " curriculum development" means a set of activities, including clarifying objectives, selecting and organizing the curriculum. In a narrow sense, they refer to all kinds of regional materials. Certainly, they also have some bearing on curriculum implementation in a school. But in this article, I mainly study the regional culture resources from the school point. Then, standing on the ground of school-based curriculum development, I think that in the Dongxiang nationalities' elementary school by means of exploring and utilizing curriculum resources we should achieve these two goals: to meet the Dongxiang nationalities' children's special needs more satisfyingly and to achieve all the subjects' objectives more efficiently. To arrive at these goals, I firstly study the education resources in the Dongxiang nationalities' culture with regional and national characteristics. Secondly,I analyze and calogue the main curriculum resources from the points of language and culture, history, geography, nature,society, traditional physical and folk music respectively. Finally, I study the general strategies for exploring and utilizing curriculum resources and put forward my own suggestions for the Dongxiang nationalities' elementary school.The main methods used in this article are experience, observation, interview,documents-analyse, case-study, questionaire and so on. The basic approaches used as analyzing information are induction and comparison. Generally speaking, this article has substantial investigations and researches.It is also a kind of tentative idea for the issues about curriculum resources' exploring and utilising in the Dongxiang nationalities'elementary school.
