This dissertation attempts to propose the Seven Principles and the Six Detailed Methods aiming to stimulate the middle school students' interest of learning mathematics. The attempt is reasonably based on the inefficiencies in mathematics teaching that (i) the ordinary middle school students hold little interest in mathematics; (ii) the teaching of mathematics in middle school is inefficient; and (iii) the students' achievements in mathematics are unsatisfactory. It is also guided by the related psychological and learning theories and enlightened by the experiments of the reform in teaching methods. We put special emphasis on the influence of the teachers' personality to the interest of the students. We carried out an experiment to stimulate students' interest of learning mathematics for the purpose to seek for a sufficient approach to overcome the inefficiencies listed above. The result was the verification of the feasibility of the Seven Principles and the Six Detailed Methods presented by the author. This mini-experiment revealed that the Seven Principles and the Six Detailed Methods whose aim is to stimulate the students' interest in Mathematics are really helpful in stimulating the students' interest in mathematics. It also shows that the Seven Principles and the Six Detailed Methods can evidently help the students make great achievements. In addition, they can have a good influence on the other subjects. In this way, they can increase the students' efficiency of study and reduce the students' loads and pressures in study.
