This paper is based on the modern cognitive psychology with a method of combination of theory study and practice,to study and apply the learning strategy of chemistry. The paper reviewed historical development of the concept of learning strategy, defined the concept of its composition and intrinsic meaning ,and made clear of the differences among learning strategy, cognitive strategy, learning method and meta- cognitive strategy. The paper also briefly introduced research technique of the learning strategy,as well as investigated and analyzed present status of chemistry learning strategy of senior middle school, and committed a study with concrete evidence about instruction and training of the learning strategy of senior middle school students. The result of the study showed:(1) There is no significant sexual difference in the mastering of learning strategy in senior middle school students.(2) There is significant correlation between learning scores and scores of the learning strategy test.(3) At present, the senior middle school students have an inclination in using strategy of knowledge-mastering rather than in strategy mastering which is more advanced and helpful in developing creation-capability.(4) The instructive teaching effect of chemistry learning strategy is quite remarkable in senior middle school students, and the most effective method is to instruct and train through the combination of general learning strategy and learning strategy of certain definite subject. In conclusion,as we are in an era of knowledge economy,it is the responsibility of the teachers to instruct the students to everlastingly master and apply the learning strategy .It would be useful in developing students' creative and practicing ability.
