On the basis of a rational review of the current situation of students learning Chinese and a profound probe of the nature, purpose and law of Chinese teaching, the dissertation tries to put forward a pattern of Students as Researchers in the Inquiry Learning of Chinese, aiming at proposing the education idea of students as the subjects of Inquiry Learning so as to accomplish the ideology of "everything for the development of students", train students' inquiry ability, improve their understanding of the Chinese language, foster their view of lifelong learning, enhance Chinese learning efficiency, promote the integration of teaching with learning, and realize the prospect that teaching benefits teachers as well as students. The dissertation is made up of three parts. The first part is about a rational pondering: Students as Researchers in the process of teaching and learning of Chinese. The author demonstrates the importance and feasibility of this pattern from such aspects as the present situation ,the theoretical basis ,the practical significance . The second part is about the implications of this pattern of Students as Researchers in the Inquiry Learning of Chinese. The basic principles ,functions and objectives of this pattern is thus expounded through an account of the pattern and its features. The third part is about the implementation of the pattern of Students as Researches in the Inquiry Learning of Chinese, which is elaborated from four aspects: 1. the roles of teachers and students; 2.the strategy of operation; 3. the process of implementation; 4. the difficulties that might be met with and ways to cope with them. What should be singled out is that the author puts forward two ways to implement this pattern, which are open-end inquiry in class and special-topic research after class.
