Listening, speaking, reading and writing, the four elements of language ability in Chinese language teaching are inseparable and supplement each other. At present, situation shows that listening and speaking are always paid less attention than reading and writing in high school Chinese language teaching. This is the result from our educational concept on one hand, certain difficulty in measuring listening and speaking abilities is on the other hand. How to solve the problem of cultivation, measurement and evaluation of listening ability in high school Chinese teaching is a new task facing teaching staff. The article tries to combine the modem educational thinking, study theories, psychology as well as educational measuring techniques together, tries to covers the elements and actions of listening comprehension, required certain ability for high school students, and methods of its cultivation as well as its measurement and evaluation. The author would like to conducively grope for cultivation and measurement to Chinese listening comprehension, to hopefully complement the research on Chinese listening comprehension theory and practice.The article is composed of five parts. The first part is the foreword in which the author brings forward issues to be discussed and the theoretical significance and practical value to such research work. The first, second and third chapters are the main text, which is the research on the principle and function, the development, and the measurement and evaluation of listening comprehension in high school Chinese Teaching. The forth chapter is the conclusion.
