With The development of the communication technology,people require more and more web information content, the transmission methods which is only confined to characters or pictures can not meet people's demands, therefore more direct styles and abundant programs to realize people's desire to acquire the information has become an urgent problem to be solved in web teaching ,in this case,web connected media including a/v real-time transmission appear , while the key is how to transmit multi-media data in internet high efficiently .It is well known, the multi-media can deal with tremendous data, in former web condition, confined to the velocity of the connected MODEM equipment, real- time transmission of the connected media is usually impossible, though it is possible to make the connection come into reality, the loss of the data is very serious, the transmission of the picture may pause or stop obviously and can not reach the ideal effect without practical operation, however, in recent years with the development of the new development in connected web technology , such as XDSL and the mature popularization of the broad band technology like optical fiber. The bottle-neck problem of the multi-media has been settled to some degree, so the real-time transmission of the web media has come into the real practical phase.The paper introduces the basic-knowledge of mutlimedia data transimission, devise and realize a set of teaching platform,and imporve on streaming service system scheme. It satisfy the consumer's mutlimedia application based on web like:video order prog, long-distance education electroncial commence etc.The essay comprises six parts, the first section introduces the utilization and development of the multi-media, regarding the current situatuion of our country's on-line education, points out the definite trend of the multi- media data transmission, the second part describes the basic protocol, technology and theory of multi-media data transmission,the third part gives brief introduction to the principles and compression methods of the dealing with multi-media data, the fourth section devises and realizes acomplete set of stremline media server, the fifth part discusses Qos under the condition of Internet, the sixth part looks forward to the development of the streamline media technology.
