The molding of personality is a main issue on which the educational circles, even the whole society, always focus all their attentions. By personality patterns, education can contribute to create an "ego ideal" , which helps to a health personality. This "ego ideal" of personality runs deep in the traditional culture and spirit of the nations, and bathing in the sunlight of times, growing up with the descended character from their ancestors and varying to become an identified pattern, which usually directs individuals consciously or unconsciously to the ideal. But over a long period, on the personality education people has paid more attention to the exterior influences and less to individual' s initiative, and more the personality education has been limited on the moral education without care for the individual and ignored the significant factors, such as emotion and will, of a completed personality, which has been bringing about many regrets. With the evolvement of humanistic psychology, the study of personality is developed to the lay of consideration for individuals. An individual' s emotion and self-fulfillment is coming to be concerned. Personality seems to be a geometric figure having many dimensions, of which moral, emotion and will make up the core. The emotion and will factors of personality, to an individual, can promote the quality of life, and to human society, can contribute to the social advancement, which are the essential parts of the personality education.Language teaching is the consanguinity of the personality education. It has prime advantage on bringing about the health personality of individuals. To an individual him/herself, language studying, especially his/her mother tongue, is the cultivation of soul, and in consequence will mentally link up with the national culture with itsmental marking being branded into his consciousness. Chinese classical poems and writings have had a predestined relationship with the "emotion" and "will" since their origination. Both the writing intention and the evaluating standard show the basic inclination that people pay equal attention to the emotion and will. The aggregate of poems and writings of past dynasties not only draws the outline of the course of the national cultural and mental evolution, but also presents the general picture of Chinese development, reflects the Chinese civilization and social succession. By reading the works, we can go deep into the literators' heart, to feel their eagerness or loss, sorrow or consolation and so on, deeply in their soul. In some extent, the tracks of history and life always show unexpected similarity. Although things are changing as time goes by, it' s wise to learn from the experiences and lessons of the predecessor.We should hold the key period of adolescent to mold their personality. In order to achieve the goal of "language and literature learning for life" , we' d better absorb the nutrition from the thousands of years' tradition of the poem and writing teaching and learning which emphasized the importance of the moral construction and setting up the learners' ambition, and paid great attentions to emotional experience and behavioral practice. In teaching of Chinese classical poems and writings, we should carry through the principles of depending on individual' s own initiative, creating the atmosphere and paying attention to mutual activities and communication between teachers and students, and should cut in from the point of emotion and will factors of Chinese classical works based on the background of history and culture, to disinter the sufficient elements of personality education coming out of them, to combine with the background of present era and to build a kind of personality patterns, so that the students canexperience the emotions by chanting, establish their wills by debating, be touched by affection, express their thoughts by poems, improve theirmind by emotion and ambition, set up his moral by their ambition; while they are immersed in their feelings of success from lan...
