Present Situation Of Moral Personality Of Contemporary College Students And The Countermeasures

College students are the masters of the twenty first century. Their ideological and moral quality, including modem moral personality, is closely connected with the spiritual features of China in the 21st century, the success of socialism modernization and greatness of Chinese nationality. Therefore, it is of great significance in both theory and practice to study the present situation of moral personality of contemporary college students and seek the countermeasures. Entitled "present situation of moral personality of college students and the countermeasures", this article, combining theory with practice, presents an overall situation of moral personality of modem college students, tries to seek the causes and provides solutions to the problems, aiming to make a breakthrough in the research of this field. The paper is divided into three sections:Section one: moral personality and the significance of cultivating it. In this part, the writer first gives a definition of moral personality from the perspective of ethic, revealing its characteristics, structure, and functions. And then the writer gives a detailed illustration of the significance of cultivating moral personality from four aspects, i.e. the requirement of college moral education, the requirement of promotion of quality-oriented education, the requirement of the construction of civic virtues and the requirement of fostering socialism builders and successors.Section two: the present situation of moral personality of contemporary college students. In this part, the writer presents the general situation of moral personality of contemporary college students in terms of cognizing level, moral emotion, willpower, and behavioral criteria. In the second part of this section, the writer reveals the existingproblems of moral personality from the dependency of moral behavior, duality of moral evaluation, lack of moral emotion, and separation of personality elements. In the last part of the section, the writer analyzes the causes for the problems from the influences of limitation of traditional morality, the negative influences of market economy, influences of insufficiency of moral education in reality and the influences of college students' lack of moral cultivation.Section three: the cultivation of moral personality of contemporary college students. In this section, on the basis of definition, reasons, and contents, the writer discourses upon the basic objective of moral personality cultivation of college students, then dissertates the basic principles for the cultivation in terms of the initiative of the subjects, levels of system, and innovating development. And in the last part of this section, the writer provides some measures for the cultivation of moral personality of college students, including innovating moral education methodology, building a good environment of campus culture, strengthening the connection between college, family and the society, establishing a perfect mechanism for rewards and punishment, encouraging college students to carry out moral social practice, giving guidance to moral cultivation of college students and reinforcing the construction of teaching team in moral personality education.
