For an individual, character is the most clear, important and distinguished personality characteristic from the others'. Gradually, it becomes in kinds of actual activities. Although character can't decide wether learning takes place or not, it would affect learning types, and then indirectly affect learning efficiency. Using questionnaire and conversation method, this paper conducted among 728 Mongolian junior high school students in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The study examined character trait influence on academic achievement of students. Many conclusions were draw from present study as following:1. The results indicated that there are significant correlation between one's academic achievement and his character trait. It primarily includes activation, knowledge, self-conscious* persistence, enterprise, objectivity, facility ,sincerity, altruism, aggressivity and sense of honor. All above show the significant influence on academic achievement.2. For different subject achievement, the influence of character traits are different besides intercommunity. There are nine character traits including knowledge, facility, enterprising, sincerity, aggressivity, persistence, objectivity, altruism and activation influencing Chinese Language. There are seven character traits including knowledge, facility , enterprising, sincerity, aggressivity, activation and sketchiness influencing Mathematics. There are twelve character traits including knowledge, facility, enterprising, sincerity, aggressivity, persistence, objectivity, altruism, self-consciousness, all-sidedness, sense of honorand extraversion influencing Mongolian Language.3. Totally, comparing with the lower score's students, the character traits of the higher score's students are as following: the'aspects of life purport with benefit, offering and knowledge; the aspects of will trait with self-consciousness, persistence and self-control; the aspects of cognitive style with sense of honor and sincerity; the aspects of attitude trend with sense of responsibility, enterprising, altruism, sense of honor and sincerity. Aiming at each course, there are some difference besides the intercommunity above. Comparing with the lower score's students, the higher have extraversion in Chinese Language, decision, all-sidedness, independence, extraversion and sketchiness in Mongolian Language and decision, intensity and continuity in Mathematics.4. There are significant differences, both boy's and gilr's character trait on three subjects. The higher score's group in Mathematics, the boy excels the girl on the independence and objectivity. Either higher group or lower score's group, the girl excels the boy on knowledge, sense of honor, enterprising, self-consciousness, facility , offering, sincerity and extraversion.5. Regression analysis indicated that key character traits are knowledge, altruism and aggression influencing academic achievement of Chinese language; knowledge, enterprising and extraversion influencing academic achievement of Mongolian language; knowledge, facility, sketchiness, persistence, enterprising and self-consciousness influencing academic achievement of Mathematics.6. Some educational suggestions are advanced according to the results.
