Problem-probing Learning (PPL), as a new subject which has entered the curriculum system of high schools in China, brings about not only major changes in curriculum structure but an essential innovation of educational ideas as well as teaching approaches. The Evaluation of PPL, one of the most important components of PPL curriculum, is an effective means to achieve the curriculum objectives, to develop the guidance to educational evaluation and to monitor the instructional quality. It is also a new issue in the new round of education reform in China. This thesis, coupled with some relevant educational theories and teaching practice of PPL, employs literature research and behavior research to study such aspects as the connotation, the theoretical basis, principles, contents and approaches of the evaluation of PPL systematically and attempts to explore the law of the evaluation of PPL to guide to implement the PPL teaching.The conclusions made by this thesis are as following: The evaluation of PPL should establish multi-angled evaluating criteria on the basis of the relevant learning contents, aims and procedures, utilizing various evaluating means such as self-evaluating, inter-evaluating, qualities evaluating and quantities evaluating on the basis of autonomous, developmental, procedural and realistic principles, guided by students-based in situational principles as well as constructions and multi-intelligence evaluating ideology.This thesis consists of the following five parts.The first part deals with the reasons of selecting this theme.The second part starts with the connotation and significance of evaluation of PPL, then demonstrates its theoretical basis and finally points out its principles and characteristics.The third part attempts to explore the contents of the evaluation of PPL from three angles, namely its contents, aims and procedures.The fourth part presents a variety of evaluating methods on thebasis of the subject of evaluation and processing approaches.The last part briefly concludes the whole thesis. |
