We are now living in an information society. One of the most important features of our society is that the amount of information increases quickly as well as the information enlarges greatly. It acquires people not only to master a great amount of knowledge, but also to learn all his life. As the report of UNESCO says, learning all the life is the key skill of living in the 21st Century, and the most crucial factor is to know how to learn. As middle school teachers, we should consider some questions concerned with secondary school education, such as how to make a student study by himself and for himself, how to help a student master the skills of learning which can benefit his further development.Since the early of 1950s, when some scientists like Jerome Seymour Bruner and Simon brought about the theory of learning strategies, the research about learning strategies has been developing rapidly, especially after J.H.Flavell's metacognition appeared. Many experts at home and abroad did some research in the development of students' learning strategies levels. Grooming students as excellent learners is good to help them construct good cognitive structure. It plays an active part in giving free rein to students' learning enthusiasm and consciousness, improving their studying efficiency and quality as well.But what are Learning Strategies? And how to master the strategies of learning physics? There are four parts in this paper to deal with these questions.The first part is the preface, which talks about the significance of the study. There are three aspects in this part: training the students to master the learning strategies of physics is the demand of our society, and it is the demand of reform of physics teaching; at the same time, it is the demand of the study of learning strategies.The second part is about the theories of physics learning strategies. Learning strategies are the monitoring system for study. Learning strategies of physics has the common features of all the other learning strategies; on the other hand, it has its own characteristics compared to some other learning strategies.The third part is the theories of mastering the learning strategies for the students. According to Piaget's Theory of Cognitive Development andConstructivist Learning Theory, there are different levels for students' cognitive development. To train the students to master the physics learning strategies, we should keep the rules of education and the students' development. At the same time, this paper has analyzed the factors affecting the development of mastering learning strategies.The last part is the practice of teaching. With the help of the theories of pedagogy and psychology, we took different methods of teaching according to different situations. And we have gained much useful information about the strategies of attention, emotion, learning physics concepts, the rules of study, solving problems and doing physics experiments and so on.
