Working skill education is one of the important parts of all-round development education. The main task is to foster the students' attitude to labor, to form the habit of labor, to help the students master the elementary knowledge and basic skill in modern production. The working skill teachers in middle schools are those who take on the work in working skill education, especially teaching working skills. It is of great significance to do research on the present condition of teachers engaged in working skill education in middle schools. The suggestions and strategies proposed on the basis of the research will be of great importance to improve the quality of teachers and quality of teaching in working skill education.The present study is based on questionnaire survey as well as theoretical analysis. Through the investigation on working skill teachers in middle schools in Qingdao, it attempts to discuss the characteristics of several aspects of the teachers in the hope that the findings will be useful to the development of the teachers and improvement of working skill education in middle schools.The thesis inquires into the present condition of the working skill teachers, with the focus on their quality. It comprises five parts:1.The construction of the working skill teachers 2.Typies of schools 3.The quality of working skill teachers 4.The training of working skill teachers 5.To what degree the working skill teachers satisfied with their job. According to the content above, the questionnaire has been compiled. It includes two parts. The first part is about individual basic conditions. The second part is about the quality of teachers, the training of teachers and the degree of satisfaction to their job. Thereare forty-three questions in all. Among them forty-one are closed questions, two are opening ones.The study has been done mainly through the way of investigating of questioning, assisted with the ways such as visiting, inquiry, consulting references and so on. A test has been done in all ordinary middle schools and one Working Skill Education Center in the four districts of Qingdao city, and also in some suburban middle schools. The test is by the way of statistics random sampling on different levels. The results are as following:1.The whole quality of the working skill teachers is not high. In Qingdao there are 237 top teachers in subjects, but none of working skill teachers. There are 2548 young experts in teaching , but only 4 working skill teachers.(they are all teachers of Working Skill Education Center.) Comparatively, the quality of teachers in Working Skill Education Center is higher than those working skill teachers in middle schools.2.The rate of qualified schooling is high, but still 9.76% teachers haven't got their qualified schooling. 3.The age of the working skill teachers is low, and the time of teaching working skill course is short. 4. The professional constructure of working skill teachers is very miscellaneous. The teachers are lack of training both before work and after work. Although teachers'ability of operation is good, their level of professional knowledge and technical ability is not high because most working skill courses are simple handwork . 5.The political quality of the working skill teachers is high. But there are still problems with teacher's working attitude. 6. The working skill teachers in ordinary middle schools are not satisfied with their job. They feel their subject is not paid much attention to. 7.The working skill teachers are lack in ability of research. Few of them has participate in high level educational research. 8. The position and pay of the working skill teachers are lower than other teachers. Only two of full-time working skill teachers have high title of professional rank.Such results have been discussed in this thesis.Suggestions are proposed on how to strengthen the construction of working skill teachers and improve the quality of working skill education based on the present situation of the working skill teachers in middle scho...
