Mathematics , with abstract objects , researchable activities , well-knit inference and special language , makes it impossible for middle school students , who remain at the fledgling stage of thinking , to have an immediate , direct grasp of how it works inside. Only by repeated thinking , exploratory studies and self-adjustment, that is , only by unremitting efforts to ruminate over what is learned in mathematics , can they acquire an insight into what happens inside mathematics. So, rumination in mathematics learning is a key link in mathematics learning activities . But now it is a weak one among students. This article has more discussions about the theories related to rumination , analyzing what roles the rumination-based mathematics learning activities play . Making students learn to ruminate is a requirement for the education of " Know How to Learn ". Rumination is an important embodiment of the Constructivism Theory in teaching activities . It not only optimizes students' mathematically-thinking quality but also is an effective way for them to improve their cognition . As to how to develop students' ruminating ability , this article also conducts practice and experiments, aimed at providing specific practical reference for teaching activities and research concerned.
