In the April of 2000, the mathematics syllabus for full-time general senior high schoolfthe experimental revised edition),issued by Ministry of Education, put forward clearly for the first time: "Researching problem study" (12 periods) was arranged into the content of the required courses, at the same time the instructional objectives and reference problems were also given. Research study, as a kind of valuable approaches and a carrier to cultivate the students' innovation spirit and practical ability, is no doubt a hot, luminescent and difficult spot in the present curriculum reform of the elementary education in our country. Research study possess the characteristic of integrity and openness, but for the process of bringing it into effect, it also needs corresponding courses as a carrier. So the varied disciplines of the active high schools all ought to do their effort to carry out the research study in practical teaching. How to do the research study at mathematics in senior high school?The present author has done some research work about it. First of all the paper discussed the background and the significance of doing the research study in mathematics, as well as its learning aim, study characteristic and theoretical principle of pedagogical psychology. Secondly, he has done some research on mathematics one in learning activities. It mainly includes the determination of the research problems, the organization of the activities, directing or assigning role of the teachers and the evaluation of learning. The third part is cases and comment while the fourth part is an experiment on research study and the interpretation of results.
