Research on exercise and free radicals has become an important question in the field of sports medicine with the development of the theory of free radicals, but there was no study concerning about the variance of urinary lipid peroxide levels (MDA) in exercise. The purpose of the present work were to investigate effects of training styles on urinary MDA levels, and study the correlationship of urinary MDA levels with physical strength and exercise-induced fatigue in rowing athletes.38 rowing athletes were used as research subject in this study, they performed high-intensity intermittence training exhausted exercise and cycle training of 3wk. the urinary MDA levels and the serum total testosterone(T) free testosterone(FT) and blood urea nitrogen(BUN) lactate hemoglobin(Hb) were measured. The observations are as follows:1 After high-intensity intermittence training, the urinary MDA and blood BUN were significant increased(p<0.05), but the blood HB was significant decreased(p<0.05). The relation between urinary MDA levels levels and BUN was obvious positive correlation(p=0.88,p<0.05), and the relation between urinary MDA levels and Hb was obvious negative correlation(r=-0.87,p<0.05).2 During cycle training of 3wk,moring urinary MDA levels and blood BUN in large quantity training week were significantly increased compared with that in small quantity training week(p<0.05). However, the levels of serum HB T and FT showed a marked decrease in large quantity training week(p<0.05). The relation between urinary MDA levels and BUN was obvious positivecorrelation(r=0.81,p<0.05), and the relations between urinary MDA levels and Hb(r=-0.76,p<0.05),T(r=-0.65,p<0.05), T(r=-0.61, p<0.05) were obvious negative correlation.3 Compared to the values before exhaustive exercise ,the differences of urinary MDA levels at immediately following exercise(p<0.05) , 4h (p<0.01)and 24h(p<0.05) after exercise were significant increased.4 In rowing exercise, with urinary protein increasing significantly ,when urinary MDA levels was more 7umol/g and blood BUN was more 20mg/dl, athletes felt more fatigue, therefore we must adjust our training program for athletes .The present results indicated that urinary MDA levels increased significantly after high-intensity intermittence training exhaustive exercise and 3wk cycle training (p<0.05). In evaluating physical strength and diagnosing exercise-induced fatigue of athletes . There were significantly correlativity between urinary MDA levels and blood' Hb, BUN and serum T ,FT, Therefore urinary MDA levels was a useful parameter in rowing exercise.
