| The work-study mutual aid team is the most influential social group for studying internal practice and the work-study idea after the May 4th Movement. Its aim is to explore the ideal model of new society, new life and new education by uniting working and studying, and to draw a beautiful "everyone works, everyone studies, everyone tries his best, everyone gets his needs" picture. The work-study mutual aid team is a flash in the history. It shows its nature of reformism and utopianism. As a social and educational reform experiment, the team has its own good qualities. From the point of education, it has many super space and time qualities, such as"combining education and working" in order to cultivate all aspects developed man" ; "working while studying" ; "supporting oneself" ;"popularizing education" ; "people who study must work, people who work must study" ; "narrowing the gap between physical worker and mental worker" . On the basis of re-reading the historical records and borrowing current study results. The paper makes a deep study on the educational exploration of the mutual aid team by probing into its beginning, its operational characters, and causes of its failure. The purpose is to show the significance of the team about helping people form their values which adapted to the social development in the transformation of society and the enlightenment of the movement for education reform and development in modern society.
