A new round of curriculum reform in basic education in China started at the arrival of the new era. Whether the reform will succeed depends on not only whether there are advanced education thoughts but also whether the reform can be really carried out in all primary and high schools throughout China. This essay is written from the view of a teacher, teaching history in a high school, with the opinions upon the difficulties which history teachers will face and the methods which will help solve the problems, help remove the obstacles and help produce effective results when the course of the reform in history-teaching in high school is being promoted.This essay is inquiring into the difficulties which the new curriculum reform will meet with in class and in society. They are brought not only because of the subjective ignorance of the teachers bu t also lack of objective circumstance. It is also analyzing the factors which produce difficulties in the course of the reform and at present how to make use of the advantages and create chances to make use of all kinds of good factors in order to search for the methods of solving problems and putting forward the ways of dealing with problems in schools and in society.
