After the establishment of PRC the eighth course innovation of elementary education have been carrying forward smoothly around the country with a surprising speed. The key task of this innovation is to develop students' modern study mode with independence, research and cooperation. To explore classroom teaching tactics and models of math for developing student's modern study mode is the main purpose of this issue.By the guidance of constructivist and humanist study theory, this issue analyses the features of modern study mode. Contrasting with several representative classroom-teaching experiments in recent years, three teaching tactics have been promoted for developing student's modern study mode in combination with author's teaching experiences. These tactics are respecting students' main part in teaching, designing study tasks reasonably and directing students' study on math moderately. And then this issue puts forward a favorable teaching model for developing students' modern study mode.
