This thesis focuses on the phenomena of "One people, one school" existing in Wudu County, Hui County and Liangdang County in the south of Gansu Province. By the following scientific research methods as investigation, observation, interview and documentation, the thesis discusses the present situation and the existing problems of the phenomena mentioned above, and raises at the end of the paper practical conclusions and solutions of theoretical value.The thesis consists of the following three parts:Part One: Introduction. In this part the writer gives a detailed description of the background and the present situation of "One people, one school", and exhibits the significance of this research. Besides, the selection of research method and the process of the research are other important information in this part. At the end of this part, the writer shows the basic structure of this paper.Fart Two: The Analysis of Investigation Process and Results. In this part the writer sets out to analyze the information obtained from questionnaire, interview and observation, and to discuss the present situation and the role of "One people, one school" in the whole education system. The conclusion drawn from the above analysis is that the "One people, one school" model applies to the natural situation of the south part of Gansu, to the economic and productivity level and to the tradition of running schools in mountainous areas. Double-teaching is the main form of "One people, one school" and is of the value of existence.Part Three: Problems in the "One people, one school" Model and Suggestions to Enhance the Model. The problems exhibited in this part include: management problem; financial problem; teaching quality; overall arrangement: investment problem. The suggestions given are: to increase the investment and to adjust the overall arrangement: to enhance the training program of teachers: to carry out reform on running-school system and to fully promote the schools run by private fund. Thispart shows the applicable value of this thesis.
