With the development of knowledge economy, the cultivation of students' creation ability is taken as increasingly important by different nations in the whole world. It was pointed out in the "Decision about the reform and development of the basic education in China" issued by Chinese State Council that "all the teaching staff should have right educational idea and reform their old educational conception. Meanwhile, teachers should face all the students in the teaching practice. Schools should put students' morality, creation ability and practice in the first place in the education so that students can have a solid foundation for their future development." The combination of subject teaching and Inquiry Learning is an efficient way of cultivating students' creation ability. This article deals with relevant theory, origin, and development of Inquiry Learning. It also involves in the foreign country's present situation of the using of the Inquiry Learning in Politics teaching. At the same time, the author of this article does some research on the reasons, the ways and the significance of the practice of the Inquiry Learning on the basis of my teaching practice so that it can provide some guidance for the further development of the Inquiry Learning in Politics teaching.
