On Thought Of Administration About China Establishment Of The First-class University In The World

The reform and development of Chinese university system has been a lasting yet ever new topic. In the era of knowledge-based economy, universities and colleges have become the drive of economy. The running mechanism of the world first- rate universities and its reform modes are of great interest to many colleges and universities, as well as the prototype to learn from.Starting from this point, this thesis attempts to locate the optimal orientation and objects of the reform and development of Chinese universities.Applying the fundamental principles of political, administration, and sociological science, the thesis makes a systematic reflection on the system reform and development of Chinese universities with an approach of Marxist dialectical materialism. After a brief summary on the existent literature, it introduces the research approaches and the structure of the article. Generally, it addresses the issue in the following aspects:First, it demonstrates the relevant theories on establishing world first-rate universities. On the basis of an explanation on the essential attributes and nature of higher education, it pointes out the objects and major tasks and functions of higher educational institutions. Then it analyzes the connotation of first -rate universities and illustrates the standard for them.Second, it analyzes the requirements for building first- rate universities. The thesis points out the facts confronted by the building, that is, "three transformations" and "five challenges". It also analyzes the distinct gap in funds, academic level and faculty between several elite universities in China and such world famous universities as Harvard, Cambridge and Tokyo. Detailed data are used to make a scientific comparison. It explores the existent problems in our universities and points out the distance to world famous ones. Meanwhile, the article makes a reflection on the main factors affecting the creating of world first-class universitiesin China in terms of culture and systems of higher education.Third, it discusses the measures for establishing Chinese elite universities with global reputation. It holds that reform of higher educational system should be deepened so as to provide some institutional security in the first place. In addition, intensity of government support should be elevated to ensure the leap-development of some universities and colleges of world -class. Furthermore, a strategy of revitalizing universities with talents should be adopted to boost the appearance of a variety of higher educational institutions with top intellectuals and disciplines. Finally, advanced campus culture should be strived for so as to form an excellent academic atmosphere. In a word, multiple measures should be taken to accelerate the leap-development of some universities, so as to establish some Chinese universities of world-class, and in the long run, boost the rise of Chinese nationality with the first rate graduates.The thesis strives to make some innovations in such aspects of subject, research approaches and analytical perspectives. Despite the limitations due to inexhaustible thoughts, the ideas and countermeasures advanced here are believed to have some value of enlightenment.
