Research On Reform Of The Student Registration System In Chinese Universities

It is clear that the reforms of student registration system in the universities is not only the objective demand for social development, but also the urgent requirement on the administration of universities in terms of law, development of higher educational business. Furthermore, it is necessary choice for actualizing the education cultivation in the new period. On the other hand, along with the new regulation of students management in higher education institutions was issued by Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China in March, 2005, it will become a new point of start on innovation of student registration system in the Chinese universities. This regulation has been discussed using new educational concept to guide reform on student registration system in the Chinese universities. This dissertation will combine three principles (such as higher education, higher education administration and science of law) with two methods (such as analysis on history, comparative study) to carry out theoretical explaining and practical research for student registration system in the Chinese universities.This dissertation focus on four parts: (1) process of reform on students registration system will be reviewed, and characteristics of reform in term of student registration system on different period will be analyzed. Moreover, the author also to explore historical reasons, which is influences the reform process. (2) In the second part, the author elicits and deeply analyzes the real problems on reform of student registration system in the Chinese universities. (3) The author will discuss the student registration system in detail in term of related theories, such as concept of "student-center", idea of "administration of universities in terms of law" and "training men with morality". (4) Based on these theories, the author further provides the route of reform for student registration system in the Chinese universities.Finally, the author thinks that there have some problems in the student registration system. The one problem is the notion of historical education administration still influences existing reform of student registration system deeply. On the other side, how to avoid rigid administration and how to ensure student's rights and interests also is problem in the existing student registration system. Based on "rationality" and "validity" in the existing student registration system, the author will give some suggestions on reform of student registration system, such as changing traditional notion on student registration, completing student registration system and so on.
