Experimental Study On The Effect Of Winter Swimming Exercise In The Diabetes Mellitus Rats

Object: Diabetes mellitus,after cancer and cardiac disease,is the third fatal cause threatening man's health.Exercise therapy is one of the methods to cover diabetes mellitus. The purpose of this thesis was to observe the effect of winter swimming exercise on the level of daily drinking water,daily body-weight,blood glucose,blood insulin and blood C-peptide in diabetes mellitus rats.Methods: All rats were randomized into four groups: normal control group(A),diabetic non-exercise training group(B),diabetic swimming exercise training group(C) and diabetic winter swimming exercise training group(D).The first two groups(A and B groups) weren't trained,but the last two groups (C and D groups)were trained with swimming and winter swimming exercise.Results:After 8 weeks,the blood glucose and daily drinking water decreased,while daily body-weight and blood C-peptide increased in C and D groups compared with B group.But there was no significant changes have been shown among the B,C and D groups in the blood insulin. All the diabetic indeies in I) group were not as significant as in C group.Conclusions:The study suggests that,after winter swimming exercise,the diabetes mellitus rats were elliveated,but the therapy is not as good as swimming exercise.
