The purpose of the thesis is throughing the introspection of the question of adult higher education "similar to higher education ", to find out the reason causing this question, then on the basis of referencing advanced experience of foreign adult higher education, explore the adult higher education development path "return to itself. The full text is divided into three parts altogether:Part one, The adult higher education "similar to ordinary higher education": "lost itself. This part is spoken from the connection and difference between the adult higher education and ordinary higher education, draws the question of adult higher education "similar to ordinary higher education ", and refers to the behavior and drawbacks of adult higher education "similar to ordinary higher education" mainly.Adult higher education and ordinary higher education have a close connection and great difference. They have great difference in educational target, educational objective, educational content, educational pattern, educational result etc., which requires adult higher education should be different from ordinary higher education in such aspects as enrolling new students, running the school.. And ignoring these difference, adopting the ordinary higher education mode will cause adult higher education demonstrate it's own characteristics and function, causing it to "similar to ordinary higher education", that is to say, the adult higher education is similar to or identical with ordinary higher education in teaching-mode, management mode, theoretical system, etc..The adult higher education "similar to ordinary higher education "has brought the following drawbacks: At first, ignoring the characteristics of adulthigher education is unfavorable for adult higher education to develop in healthy way; Second, ignoring the basic characteristics of adult has hindered into the adult's development; Moreover, this mode has cut off the connection between adult higher education and society, which has limited the adult higher education playing its function of science,technology and economy. And it is unfavorable for adult higher education to develop with ordinary higher education in harmony too. And "similar to ordinary higher education " causes the entity reduction of adult higher education's characteristics further, lacking the distinction and creativity makes it's own characteristics not apparent, losing the base of settling down and getting on with it's work, making its development in imminent danger finally and whose status can't be consolidated! So adult higher education should respond era's call, link the pulse of the times closely, break through the tradition, weed out the old and bring forth the new, start the development path with it's own characteristics.Part Two: Origins the formation of adult higher education "similar to ordinary higher education": "covered itself. The adult higher education has lost itself for a long time, the reason is deep seated, including the reasons in many aspects, such as the history and the realistic reason, the thought and the behavior reason, the system and the culture reason, etc..First, the reason of history and realistic aspect. Historically, the foundation of adult high academic credentials education is ordinary higher education, and adult higher education bears the weight of compensation task of diploma that history has left over, which makes adult higher education have unavoidable color of ordinary higher education.
