Cooperative Learning is a new teaching method which arose in the western countries not long ago. It tries to form a sharing system among students to improve their study, to develop there harmonious characters and creative abilities as well as to form cooperative senses.In the new knowledge economic time, the citizens are required to have higher characteristic independence, original creation and stronger social responsibilities. Since Chinese teaching has been taking the responsibility to educate people and make them improve their human nature, great changes are needed in Chinese teaching method at present. It needs to change from the accumulation of knowledge to the development of ability and consideration training which is the center of social responsibilities and character accomplishments. The outstanding distinguishing features of the curriculum reform are the complete changes of students' learning styles. As the Standard of Chinese Teaching in Average Senior Middle School points out: Students, basing on self-studying, should be good at listening and take an active part in discussions as well as other leaning activities to learn to from others, to learn to be tolerant and communicative and to learn to share and cooperate, which is up to the requirement of this modern time.The main idea in my article is the strategies on how to carry out the reform in Chinese Reading in Senior Middle School, it is necessary for teachers to create a cooperative circumstance in order to activate the students' self-studying consideration and to stimulate their quick creativities so that the students can read articles with their own understanding. The purpose ofcooperative learning is to put the students into a chief position, and by communication between them, students can understand the articles they read perfectly, and can improve their abilities in reading, understanding together with expressing.Moreover, this article also emphasizes the responsibility that the teachers should take in conducting the students when they are doing cooperative reading. The teachers not only need to lead the students to read and understand the articles but also need to control the reading process and give the student a justifiable and scientific judgment.
