| The modern sports' rapid development and continuous renovation can not be separated from the increasingly abundant sports information. Whether the sports level of a country or an area is high or low depends on the efficiency and quantity of how sports information are delivered, intercommunicated, controlled and used. So, apart from the stability professional skills, anyone who wants to be a professional coach must have the information literacy as well.However, articles regarding the special coach's information literacy are hard to find. So, in light of the actuality of our volleyball coaches' information literacy, I selected all the coaches who participated in the 2003 men and woman national volleyball tournament as my research objects, and my main research methods include interview, questionnaire, etc.The result shows that:(1) There are some relationship with coach's information literacy and their team's score in competition. And those coaches who have high information literacy, their team will get high score.(2) Most of our volleyball coaches have strong information consciousness, they believe that it is play a very important role whether they be good at acquiring and making use of information or not. However, they still can not use modern information resources well to promote their professional work because of the little knowledge on information's concept, connotation, function, and the main method, means of acquiring information, and the low ability of using modern information technologies.(3) Our volleyball coaches' main purpose of collecting and using information isInvestigation and research on actuality information literacy of China volleyball coach Abstractfor the sake of studying their opponents, so they can achieve the final victory. Because of many limit factors as work characters, the time they using to acquire information is very short.(4) There are various of reasons limit our volleyball coaches acquire and use information.
