Information technology has permeated every aspect of daily life.Especially in recent years,the development of new media and mobile Internet has had a great impact on our life,work and study.Web 2.0 has made great changes in the way of information dissemination and the way people obtain information.Man is no longer just the receiver of information,but also the transmitter of information and the producer of new information,which is undoubtedly a great challenge to the education of information literacy in our country.In order to study the true level of information literacy of high education institutions,the author selected 1200 students from college,ordinary university,and key university(here in after referred to as X,Y,Z)as the measurement samples.From the information awareness,information knowledge,information ability,information morality,four dimensions to measure their information literacy status quo,find out the difference between them,and explore the influence factors of information literacy,hoping to make a little contribution to the improvement and perfection of information literacy course of higher education in our country.Found that:From the school dimension: from college to general university to key university,students’ information awareness and information ability are gradually rising,key university students’ information knowledge is the best,and the students’ information moral level is higher;From the subject dimension,the information awareness of science and technology students is better than that of liberal arts students,but the opposite is true in information morality.There is no significant difference in information knowledge and information ability among students majoring in different majors;From the gender dimension,boys are superior to girls in information awareness,information knowledge and information ability,while girls are better than boys in information morality.According to the results of data analysis,the author conducted a targeted interview,found that different types of high education institutions pay different attention to information literacy education.However,in the four dimensions of information literacy,college students have some problems,such as weak information consciousness,insufficient information knowledge,low information ability,lack of information morality,etc.This is because college students have insufficient demands on themselves.High education institutions pay less attention to information literacy education and lack of information infrastructure.It also points out that college students should improve their information literacy through various ways,colleges and universities should pay more attention to information literacy and society should strengthen the supervision of the information environment.
