Reconstructing the classroom teaching against a background of pushing on the curriculum reform of the basic education has become one of the most important aspects in carrying out the educational reform and the newly-made curriculum. Reconstructing the classroom teaching means that teachers should, based on the ideals of the new curriculum, change their way of thinking of what teaching is and their traditional way of teaching maths to meet the needs of the educational reform. It also means that teachers should redefine the classroom teaching and make some necessary adjustment to the way of imparting knowledge so that the students' capability can be developed. Reconstructing the classroom teaching includes the possible innovations in the teachers' point of view as well as the innovations in the methods and the techniques used in the classroom.The thesis is composed of three parts. The first part starts with a general background analysis of why the topic about how to design the classroom teaching for maths in middle schools based on the newly-made curriculum is chosen, its rationale and its significance, then followed by the present situation of this study.The second part, by providing previous researchers' relevant study both in China and abroad, redefines what teaching design means and what teaching design for maths teaching really means. Besides, this part makes some systematic and theoretical study of the ideal, the principle, the methods and the techniques when designing the classroom teaching for maths.The third part is the key part of this study. In this part, the author, after many years of the experiment in teaching maths, discusses how to design different ways of teaching maths, such as the way of teaching concepts, the way of teaching formulas or the way of solving the maths problems.
