Chinese idiom is a kind of special Chinese vocabulary, which is frequently used in practice. Thus, the research on idiom draws increasing attention of linguists. As to idiom, in its beginning of emerge or in the course of use, the linguistics value as a kind of vocabulary and ideography dominates in its value system. The reason why idiom can be handed down from generation to generation and now still plays a very important part in spoken and written language is that it can meet people's expressing need. The meaning of a certain part of idioms contain profound philosophical thought and are rich in teaching resources. If all these idioms are systematically summarized, they will benefit teaching. Over a long period of time, the subject on the improvement of teaching efficiency is very important. Mr. Lu-Shuxiang calls on many times the study on how to improve the teaching efficiency. The teaching efficiency improvement deals with teaching material, teaching methods and so on, which is a system engineering. In this paper, based on the previous research work, the function of Chinese idiom in Chinese teaching will be further investigated, and its important value and significance will be shown.
