The thesis has explored on the Task-based Approach in Junior English Teaching. The author also did an experiment in her classes to compare the Task-based Approach with traditional English teaching methods.The task-based approach is a kind of developing morphology of communicative teaching ideology in the recent 20 years. It transmits the basic concepts of language application into the classroom teaching approach with practical senses. "Task", in a word, means doing things, in the course of which, the learner is always in the positive and active mental position. In order to accomplish the task in the classroom, the students have to practice, discuss with their partners. When they fix attention on the "task", they bring into play varieties of linguistic and non-linguistic resources to make the sense. There is no doubt that the task-based approach is an advanced approach which can match the new standards of English curriculum in high school. This research paper consists of five parts.The first part is to deal with the reason of this research subject including an introduction to the present condition of Junior English Teaching and the new standards of English curriculum.In the second part of this article, the author expounds the basic concept and some characteristics of the task-based approach and its theoretical gist. She introduces the characteristics and the types of classroom task as well.In the third part, the author analyses the characteristics of current junior English material; she also studies how to precede her teaching in the classroom according to the components, the mode and the principles of task-based approach. The fourth part is to deal with the experiment aim, contents, method and process;and then introduce the results of teaching and learning by using this approach. The results of this experiment show that task-based approach is efficiency in junior English teaching. In the last part, the writer puts forward some questions, suggestions and ideas onthe approach. |
